About business abroad your own country – I totally agree with you.

I dont know what are earnings of US programmers, but I suppose polish are lower, because a lot of them are moving abroad to work in United Kingdom, where earnings are much higer than here. Cost of hiring people is high here. Here, additional cost of work like social insurance etc are high. When your employee’s earning are 2000 PLN after tax(PLN – our currency, 1USD=2,3PLN) you must pay 3600 PLN.

However web developement for US market idea is worth thinking over.

I had variety of service businesses (outsourcing in the corporate sector, help desks, and call centers) as well as a finance company that I still keep – it was my first business, but not my last as I have two Web 2.0 businesses in progress … we’ll see how they pan out

In theory, you could live in Poland and have a business in the US – or live in the US and have a business in Poland … as I have done (but, not Poland … it was another country). Poland could also be a great place to set up Web 2.0 development using tools like Ruby on Rails for the US market if costs are low and English is good?

I like this blog. Every day I wake up and i’m thinking, how can I make passive income in my every day world. Good post.
