@ Bill – I don’t keep ANY real-estate in my own name; my wife was sole shareholder of ALL of our corporate entities … technically, I worked for her (!) … perhaps SHE should be writing this blog?

Is there *any* evidence RK has bought any real estate besides his own personal home?

People who have searched (real estate transactions are public record) haven’t found any evidence of RE deals by RK.

@ cashmoneylife – RDPD was also the 1st financial book that I recall reading; it taught me one critical lesson: “an asset is something that puts money IN your pocket, a liability is something that takes money OUT of your pocket”.

… simple, clear, life-changing. Not bad for $20!

Thanks for mentioning my review. RK’s Rich Dad Poor Dad was one of the first personal finance/investing books I read and it influenced me to rethink my views on money. I definitely don’t believe everything he writes or says, but some of his principles are spot on. The important thing is to take those which apply to your situation and cultivate those areas to grow your business, real estate holdings or other aspects of your net worth.

@ Moneymonk – yes, I agree … too many PF authors promote THEIR way, as the ONLY way. My ‘way’ is in this order: (a) business, (b) real-estate (c) stocks … let me know when I weigh my posts too heavily towards any one of these.

But, the principle here is to get in BUSINESS OF INVESTING … and that means a lot more than just sticking your money in your 401K (or and Index Fund) and waiting/praying.

well said.

RK is someone that got me motivated to think beyond working 9-5, however he pushes real estate too much. I’m not a RE junkie, but RK taught me to think outside the box. I’m more of an investor.

Bottomline, there is no excuse not to make more money
